New Delhi: Crime against women in India reached a new high on Monday with a girl being kidnapped from outside her college gate in broad daylight in Gurgaon.
The 19-year-old girl was forced inside the car after which the car sped up and flew away from the scene. The entire incident got captured on the CCTV installed at the college gate.
Few youngsters even ran behind the car after seeing the gruesome incident but of no use.
As per the eye witnesses, a speeding Maruti Swift, having four men inside, stopped outside the Dronacharya Government college. And the man sitting on the back seat pulled her inside forcefully.
However, the Special Investigation Team of Gurgaon Police rescued the girl within seven hours of abduction and sent her safely to home.
“The case in which a student was abducted at 9:30 AM has been solved. She is safely back at her home and police officials have talked to her. Names of three accused have surfaced in the incident. They have been identified and will be arrested soon,” Gurgaon Police Commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk told reporters.
The police further revealed that the accused were known to the girl and it was a planned kidnapping as the number plate of the car was hidden with mud.
While this incident emerged as a shocker, it also spoke volumes about the loopholes in the safety of women in India.
