The last few days in the country have been mired by a sudden spike in the COVID 19 cases. It can be said in no uncertain terms that not one or two but several states across India have been navigating across testing waters where it comes to the COVID 19 situation. Funnily though, as much of the world around observes what is already a one year anniversary since the national lockdown (was instituted), there’s still no major respite from the Coronavirus. This, mind you, is when the country has already developed what’s been largely hailed as a successful antidote to the jarring virus- the Covaxin!
Moreover, where the state of affairs of the national capital are concerned, then some immaculate measures are being put into place to keep the situation in check. Therefore, this brings us to a very pertinent question: just what measures are being put into place to ensure that Delhi is upright in its fight against the virus?

Well, for starters please be informed that first things first- random testing for COVID 19 is soon to begin at various entry points into the city of Delhi, such as the airports, bus stations, as well as the railway stations.
Now it can be said that the above was in duly constituted in lines with the Delhi administration taking a stock of the situation with reports on Tuesday informing about a surge in the cases. Moreover, care is being given to check private buses running in full capacity. Furthermore, the district magistrates and senior police officials have all been instructed to be on alert and strictly follow the instructions.
Here’s what one needs to note concerning the government directive: “Random testing of travellers coming from states where corona infection is spreading very fast.”
But all of that said, just what does the current number of COVID 19 cases in Delhi look like? To that end, it’s important to note that where the last 24 hours stand, then the daily COVID surge crossed 1,000 cases. But there’s more to this figure that one may call a random collection of numerals; the last that there were over 1,000 cases in a single day in Delhi was back in mid-December, wherein as many 1,139 new cases were discovered in a single day.
Time to exercise caution then?
What’s also important to note is that where the last 24 hours are concerned, then there have been four fatalities. Now what will happen to the string of festivities that one’s keenly geared up for? To that end, the citizens of Delhi are advised to take due note of the fact that a bar has been put on the public celebration of the festival of Holi. In fact, Holi isn’t the only upcoming festival with events like Shab-e-Barat and Navratra also due to be observed in the forthcoming days.
That being said, here’s what renowned news platform NDTV had to say on the events surrounding Delhi in these COVID 19 times:
Public health experts are suspecting that the resurgence of the virus — considered the emergent second wave of Covid in the country — was triggered partially by mutant forms and also because of laxity in observing safety measures including the use of masks and social distancing.
