Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy aka Cho Ramaswamy passed away this morning in a private hospital in Chennai. He touched the great heights in his life as he was not only a journalist but also an actor, comedian, character actor, editor, political satirist, playwright, dialogue writer, film director, and lawyer. He was ill for a long time and died at the age of 82.
In his life, Ramaswamy grabbed appreciations from many and it is no secret that Prime Minister Modi was one of the most important people in his political circle. When he was admitted to the hospital, Modi paid him a personal visit. Today, the news of his death brought back many memories and PM Modi took twitter to express his condolences. He mourned his death by calling him ‘a multidimensional personality, towering intellectual, a great nationalist and fearless voice who was respected and admired”.
Cho Ramaswamy was insightful, frank & brilliant. Pained by his demise. Condolences to his family & countless readers of Thuglak.

He also tweeted videos in which Ramaswamy called Modi, ‘ The Merchant Of Death’ and showered lavish praises on him.
The feisty Cho Ramaswamy introduces me as the 'Merchant of Death.' Do watch this memorable interaction. https://t.co/2FsF64sVvH

I returned the favour, but don't think I matched Cho's eloquence. Hear what I said about him. https://t.co/wPxYLc1fTb

You can easily understand the strong bond between the two after reading these tweets and watching this video. Though, Modi was the chief minister of Gujarat then, but this old video says a lot about Modi-Ramaswamy connection.
May God Rest His Soul In Peace!
