1. 77 people dead in grief of Jayalalithaa’s death, AIADMK would give Rs 3 Lakh to their families.
Jayalalithaa’s died on Monday after suffering from a cardiac arrest on Sunday. The ruling party in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK, on Wednesday said that 77 people till now, have died from shock on Jayalalithaa’s death. They also said that the party would give a compensation of Rs 3 Lakh to the family of these people.
2. No service tax would be charged on Debit or Credit card for transaction upto Rs 2000.
The government is soon going to defer service tax on debit and credit cards for a transaction up to Rs 2000. This step has been taken by the government in order to advocate and promote digital transactions among people between all the demonetisation and cash crunch issue. Yesterday, the Reserve Bank of India announced that customers can use their credit and debit cards without a PIN for upto Rs 2000 transaction.
3. Three militants encountered in Arwani village of Anantnag district (Jammu & Kashmir).
During an ongoing search operation for militants in south Kashmir, a heavy cross firing erupted between the army and the militants. The search operation started yesterday. Three militants have been encountered till now.
4. Kerala High Court announced, women cannot wear salwar-kameez inside Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple.
According to traditions, women visiting Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple have to wear a mundu (dhoti) over there attire or simply a saree. However, last week this practice was waived off which resulted in hundreds of women visiting the temple, which later on sparked a huge protest.
5. Maharashtra Cabinet renamed Mumbai International Airport.
Today, Maharashtra cabinet renamed Mumbai International Airport from Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The reason given by the cabinet on this change was that the Maratha warrior king deserves more respect.
