On Wednesday afternoon, a five-storey building collapsed in Bengaluru. The incident took place near HSR Layout police station and there were no casualties reported immediately. It has been stated that 10 people were inside the building when it collapsed, out of which five have been already rescued.
Padmavati G, mayor of Bengaluru, claims that the building was under construction and the main reason is the substandard material that has been used in the construction as well as unscientific planning which led to the collapsing of the building.
The information regarding the building being a five storey or a seven storey is conflicting and further information has been awaited.
The rescue operation is still undergoing and there are three fire engines at the site, trying to clear the rubble and save the people inside the building.
