Odisha is suffering from deadly disease, which has already taken 71 children’s lives. Out of these 73, 27 died of Japanese Encephalitis and 46 died due to Acute Encephalitis Syndrome, as per Madan Mohan Pradhan who is the Joint Director of National Vector-Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP). The entire numbers have resulted from a total of 505 villages in Malkangiri district of Odisha.
The entire situation has resulted in the loss of many lives, due to which a boy from one of the tribal villages has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi. In his letter, he pleaded to PM and said – Save our lives as many of my friends are dying of Japanese Fever. He also said that the PM is roaming all around the globe, can’t he come to his village and look in the matter of children dying.
Encephalitis is a rare disease and also described as inflammation of the brain. This is majorly spread by animals or insects and requires immediate medical attention in order to be treated.
