An Army Helicopter crashed on Wednesday, near Sukna in Siliguri while it was returning to the camp’s helipad from a routine mission. 3 Army officers lost their lives in the crash and a junior commissioned officer got critically injured.
Around 11:45 an in the morning today, a cheetah chopper crashed near Sukna Military Camp in West Bengal while returning from a routine mission. A junior commissioned officer survived the crash but three Army officer died on the spot. The JCO has been admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.
The army’s 33 Corps is based at Sukna near Siliguri in the northern part of West Bengal. All the aircraft of the Army are run by the Army Aviation Corps. The cause of the crash is yet to be disclosed, however, a court of inquiry has already been ordered into the incident.
