Well, truth be told, most of us can only dream of driving it while only a few, say 1 in every 100 can afford to own or drive a Lamborghini. Isn’t that right? There are things that are easy to own or afford and then rather expensive ‘out-of-reach’ items that look beautiful from a distance for when we go near them, their daunting price tag only deepen the gap that exists between them and us- isn’t it? Yet, there are also some amazingly talented people who can create their own versions of things we hitherto feel are beyond our reach!
In spending only a sum of around INR 6 lakhs, an Assam mechanic by the name of Nurul Haque actually successfully converted an old Maruti Swift car into a sports car model that actually looks like the incredibly famous Italian sports car Lamborghini.
Now, if there was one piece of stunning news you wanted to read all day then perhaps that is it.
So who is Nurul Haque exactly and where does he hail from? The Assam mechanic, with a fondness for fast cars and Fast and Furious movies actually hails from the Assamese district of Karimganj and he is quite adept at modification of cars, something he proved very recently by converting the Maruti Swift model into a replica of none other than a Lamborghini.
Hindustan Times, who covered the story and broke it in wider detail shared some amazing insights on this moving tale:
t took nearly eight months to develop it,” said 31-year-old Nurul Haque, who runs a garage in Bhanga Bazaar area of the district.
Haque was a car mechanic and painter at his father’s garage in Dimapur town, Nagaland, where they lived for about 20 years. Two years ago, they shifted base to Karimganj after receiving threats from some local groups, he said.
But I didn’t realise that it would be a costly affair. From buying the engine and the raw material to giving it the final shape, the total expenditure was around ₹620,000. I am not sure if even developing such a replica is legal. I want to drive the car across the state and I hope the police won’t arrest me and seize my car.”
Now that being told, what did help the Assam mechanic was the fact that he followed several DIY (Do It Yourself) videos on YouTube, which gave it a great idea how to go about converting his old car model into a Lamborghini style one. But that said, it was his ingenious talent and creativity, which, at the end of the day, helped him to attain the dazzling feat. And truth be told, there’s no other way to describe it in.

Imagine- a normal sedan, that too an old second-hand model and then- a Lamborghini replica! If there was ever an ideal definition of a great turnaround, then perhaps, it won’t be incorrect to suggest that this is it.
As a matter of fact, no sooner that he posted pictures of his ‘Lamborghini’ over social media did the Assam mechanic Nurul Haque become a local celebrity. Utterly deserved, as one would say!
