The most expensive car in the world is called so for a reason- but obviously! Simply out of reach for the majority of population in the world, this one is an absolute show stopper. As a matter of fact, Rolls Royce Boat Tail, which happens to be the most expensive car in the world hails from a house of manufacturing that has simply shaped the dimension of automobile engineering and design for well over a century.
An incredible confluence of automobile architecture and luxurious design, the most expensive car in the world is priced at a whopping 28 million dollars. A sum of money that you’d think only stars on god’s shining earth such as racing drivers, Hollywood stars, big movie producers, corporate moguls or tech billionaires would be able to afford.
But truth be told, you don’t afford a Rolls Royce; you acquire a piece of timeless artwork chiseled and crafted to perfection akin to a famous art piece you can comfortably stare at for hours together minus much ado.
Though, that being said, think for a second as to why Rolls Royce Boat Tail was called so? Was there some iconic philosophical line of thought that went into its naming or was it something else altogether?
Truth being told, the world’s most expensive car is one whose rear looks the part of a racing yacht, a J-class racing yacht to be precise and hence the name Boat Tail!
What a remarkable idea indeed, right where you see not only a convergence between luxurious design and artistic rendition but a pure joy on four wheels clubbed with the concept of a yacht!
Moving on, the world’s most expensive car also puts forth a question many might have trouble answering: just how comfortable would anyone be in spending no fewer than 200 crores in acquiring a piece of this grand luxury on four wheels?
Again, those who happen to constitute the elite class in India or put very simply, the creme da la creme of the society would definitely derive massive pleasuring in loosening up their fat wallets.
All of that told, here is what the revered Hindustan Times auto section had to offer in its insights on a one-of-a-kind creation:
The 2021 Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is a four-seater luxury car that stands 19-feet long. It is the first Rolls-Royce car to have been commissioned under the luxury carmaker’s new Coachbuild program. The Boat Tail car is inspired from the Rolls-Royce Sweptail car, a one-off model which was the most expensive car from the luxury carmaker till date. It was sold in 2017 for 12.8 million pounds.
Rolls-Royce had built the Sweptail car on the basis of request from a very wealthy European. The 2021 Boat Tail is no exception. According to Rolls-Royce, the three patrons who coordinated with the brand’s designers to build this super-luxury vehicle, shared a single demand: “Show me something that I have never seen before.”
To conclude, while it is more of an unsaid rule of sorts and not too hard to fathom that the Boat Tail may only see limited numbers (not for mass production), what can be said with awful amount of clarity is that Rolls Royce is arguably the greatest contribution of the city of Manchester to the realm of luxury auto. Just who can dispute this fact, one wonders?
