Released in 2017, Newton gathered massive uproar among the film enthusiasts and critics, along with all the awards it swept that year and its entry to the Oscars as India’s official entry. However, what left everyone thinking was, what’s next? What more can we see from the director and makers of Newton? And, we have finally received the Sherni Trailer to answer all our queries.
Featuring Vidya Balan in the lead role of an IFS Officer (Indian Forest Service), battling sexist stereotypes both in her personal and professional life, while dealing with an unsettled Tigress who has caused major chaos in a local area.
The film is centred around the environmental chaos our world has going through while projecting it through the lens of a small Indian locality, with people inhabiting the forest, and areas around it, and dealing with the uproar of this wild unsettled tigress.
Sherni Trailer: Watch Over Here:
Sherni is certainly another great role for Vidya Balan and would surely go down as another amazing performance in her filmography. Apart from Balan, there are tons of other actors that bring depth and intrigue to the film and its story. From Vijay Raaz, Neeraj Kabi to Ila Arun, Sharat Saxena and others, there is a stunning star cast supporting the storyline. In a statement to Indian Express about Sherni, Balan mentioned that what drove her closer to the story and project was how fascinating and far removed it is from her own world. She also said that the film deals with some very sensitive, yet crucial topics, like mutual understanding, respect, and co-existence which sprawls further than just the relationship between humans, as well as, among a man and an animal.

Since viewing in theatres is a far-fetched dream for various months to come, you’ll be able to catch Sherni on Amazon Prime Video. The film will be available on the platform on June 18th and for the Sherni trailer, we have nothing but good things to say about it.
