These are all the winners, however, there were some major goof ups and amazing things that went down at the event.
1. Mahershala Ali became the first Muslim actor to win an Oscar. He won the award for his acclaimed role of a drug-dealer in Moonlight.
2. Viola Davis became the first black actor to win an Emmy, Tony and Oscar. While, Whoopi Goldberg also has an Emmy, Tony, Oscar and Grammy to her name, her Tony was for producing a play and not acting.
3. Damien Chazelle became the youngest director to ever win an Oscar for his work. At the age of 32, Chazelle won his first Oscar for La La Land.
4. ‘The Salesman’ from Iran won the best foreign language film award at the Oscar, however, the director (Asghar Farhadi) and the lead actress from the film boycotted the Oscars in order to make a stand against President Donald Trump’s travel ban. He did write an acceptance speech which was recited on the awards.

7. And, the biggest goof-up in Oscars history went up the Best Film Award. While La La Land was first given the award, it was quickly noticed that the result was a wrong card given to Warren Beatty. Instead, Moonlight lifted the trophy.
