Transformers has been one of the biggest and most successful movie franchise for a long time with some of the best actors and directors helming the project. Now the makers are trying something, not entirely unique but, a hugely popular formula to grow the franchise and that is by creating a possible Transformers Cinematic Universe.
And, the first solo movie is based on the leading bot and extremely lovable Bumblebee.
This movie takes place in 1987, 20 years before the first Transformers movie.
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug. This is how the premise of Bumblebee trailer has been explained by the makers.
While we’re not able to spot Optimus Prime or Megatron in the Bumblebee trailer, they might be seen in the movie, or maybe we could get one of those post-credit scenes in even this one. Who knows?

This is the first live-action film in the franchise, which has not been directed by Michael Bay which makes the entire project even more exciting.
Apart from Hailee Steinfeld, even John Cena is in the spinoff, in a pivotal role. As for the direction, Travis Knight is directing the Bumblebee movie. Some of the popular movie from the director in the past are Kubo and the Two Strings.
There’s something super interesting the Bumblebee trailer, it might actually be something of a love story between its titular hero and his human companion. However, nothing is for sure for now, but if it happens, it would certainly be a first for the franchise and really interesting.
Bumblebee will be releasing on December 21, 2018.
