Dhadak is considered to be one of the most-anticipated releases of 2018, considering it’s a Hindi remake of Marathi super-hit Sairat. Along with the remake factor, Dhadak also opens the gates of Bollywood for star kids Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar. However, not everyone was happy about it, especially the hard-core Sairat fans.
But viewers’ response after the trailer and title track release has been more accepting towards the movie, now. And, the release of Zingaat from Dhadak is definitely going to create a similar atmosphere.
The original one was an instant-hit among listeners, in fact, it’s now gathered a cult feeling towards it which is why makers didn’t want to completely change the flow of this song. The music of this Zingaat has been kept same, whereas the lyrics have been re-written to suit the narrative of the movie, as well as, the setting.
The Sairat one had English lyrics at the start of it, whereas this Dhadak one has a more Hinglish tone to it. However, if there’s one thing similar in the two then it has to be the energy and brightness both the songs brings in with themselves. Ishaan Khattar is killing with his moves and energy, and Janhvi Kapoor is doing the same with her charm.

The lyrics of the song have been re-written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, who while talking about Zingaat said, “The Marathi song was released in the recent past and it is still fresh in the minds of people. It has also achieved cult status. There was no point replacing the word Zingaat, so I retained the word and rewrote the rest of the song in Hindi. I made sure that the fun element was intact. I hope people give this version as much love as the Marathi one.”
Choreography has been done by Farah Khan who’s back after a really long time with her dance steps.
All in all, Zingaat is pretty different from the original one while still being similar to it. Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan and is slated to release on July 20th.
