Today is 68th Indian Army Day and how can we leave a special flavour of Bollywood on this day. Bollywood has always been demonstrated its love and affection for the theme of patriotism. With times, Bollywood has given us some of the greatest movies ever about India. Bollywood thrives with the feeling of patriotism and there are few classics you can not miss watching if you are a country lover, after all, India lives in the heart of every Indian.
We compiled a list of 10 best patriotic movies of Bollywood:
1. Rang De Basanti
It was a film that redefined the feeling of patriotism through its modern and young context. A brilliant movie by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra with an excellent star cast of Aamir Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Madhavan, Kunal Kapoor, Siddharth, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni and Alice Patten.
2. A Wednesday
An entirely different perspective by Neeraj Pandey. A thriller drama with a very much content of patriotic flavour starring Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher.
3. Lagaan
Lagaan is a movie that revolves around a humble villager who is oppressed by high taxes forced by British rulers in the 19th century. Though it was a period-patriotic film directed by Ashutosh Gowariker but Aamir Khan as Bhuvan was loved by all.
4. Gadar
The movie had an authentic display of the time of partition and was based on the serious dispute of the Indo-Pak relationship. Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel did full justice to their characters in the film and the movie became classic.
5. Swades
Showcasing myriad colours of India, Swades was an inspirational movie for all the Indians who want to settle in abroad leaving their nation. Although the film flopped but it does has a salient message. Swades features Shah Rukh Khan and Gayatri Joshi.
6. Sarfarosh
The movie touches upon the smuggling of various fabrics and weapons between India and Pakistan and the character of ACP Rathore played by Aamir Khan was filled with patriotism and communal harmony.
7. Baby
A movie that revolves around the crucial agenda of terrorism is an exemplary thriller. Directed by Neeraj Pandey and acted by Akshay Kumar, the movie was amazingly crafted.
8. Border
Border was a dramatized version of 1971 Indo-Pak war. J.P. Dutta made a remarkable display of soldiers love for the nation and it became the biggest classic of all time.
9. Lakshya
Directed by Farhan Akhtar the movie inspires Indian youth to think of a career in Indian Army. The film focuses on the courage and devotion of Indian Army.
10. Purab Aur Paschim
How can we forget? It was the first film that highlights the difference of the Indian and Western culture. Directed by Manoj Kumar it was a huge hit of its time.
