He’s called the Baadshah Khan for a reason and there are a mighty million and a half reasons for all the love that he courts and all the gushes he extends his female fans. Few actors are as pleasing as they are talented. And on top of that, few manage to scale the epic heights that SRK already has in a fashionably long career, wherein he’s managed to remain sane and simple.
There’s this single-mindedness about Shah Rukh Khan, also celebrated as the king of Bollywood that we have come to admire. But at the same time, look deep into his soulful emotive eyes and you’ll find that there’s also an utter simplicity and frankness about them.
But that said, are these the only reasons as to why Shah Rukh Khan or SRK, as they say, is so adored and widely loved around the world, so much so that his mega fanbase extends not just the princely streets of Mumbai but has also found a home, away from home in places as far and wide as Canada, Germany, Malaysia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Or could it be that there’s something more about this Baadshah Khan that quite simply, puts him in a league of his own, therefore, only adding to his whirlwhind personality?
Apparently, yes there is.
There’s this massive quality about the man who has famously acted in myriad epic romantic sagas such as the Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Dil Toh Paagal Hai, Karan Arjun, that is actually a lovely quality to have.
And where Shah Rukh or SRK’s recent comment on Aishwarya Rai stands, in the wake of a popular movie from around a decade and a half back, then it certainly tells us a thing or two that probably others can learn from this Delhi boy who now rules Mumbai.
Apparently, Josh, a movie in which there were two glowing and widely-loved faces (yes, they were also the aces, you could say) of Bollywood, had an interesting character take where the bond between SRK and his then co-star Aishwarya Rai was concerned.
In the film, the two didn’t play romantic leads, rather they were seen playing the part of a dazzling brother and sister duo. The movie, best-known for its ballsy depiction of an intense gang-war rivalry was also widely admired for its soundtrack.
To this day, one cannot possibly forget the rustiness but sheer thrill of the song “Sailaru” that became a massive hit in those days, constantly finding its way to the chart-topping highlights of our radio stations.

Now, SRK saying that the world’s most beautiful woman was cast as his sister was rather sad or the downer for him just goes to show about the famous Khan’s sense of humor, a quality that many actually lack in the film industry.
So here’s what Shah Rukh Khan had said about his pairing with his then on-screen younger sister Aish:
“I have been very unlucky with Aishwarya. It’s a shame that in our first film (Josh), Aishwarya, the most beautiful woman in the world, in the universe and even beyond on all the planets, was my sister. She played my twin sister and people even told me that we look alike. I am still living in this misunderstanding that though I played her brother, I at least look like her.”
