Vinod Khanna, nothing short of a legend, has left us and passed away at the age of 70. He was suffering from bladder cancer and was admitted to Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital on 31st March.
It was not a long time back when images of Vinod Khanna in hospital started surfacing the Internet.
Vinod Khanna was not only an actor in Hindi Film Industry but can be called as one of the legends who did a lot of things in his career which was filled with ups and downs. From entering Bollywood as a villain to leaving Bollywood for his spiritual journey to joining Bollywood back and even entering politics, he did it all. Every part of his life was inspiring for his fans and a lesson for the upcoming talent in the industry.
He gave us some of the classics in Bollywood, from evergreen “Amar Akbar Anthony” to “Insaaf” to his recent projects with Salman Khan, we all got to see Vinod Khanna in many avatars and every one of it, was adored by his fans.
Over the course of his career, he even took a break of 5 years. In 1982, he became the follower of Godman Rajneesh, also known as Osho, and stopped acting for some 5 years. He came back in 1987 and gave hits like Satyamev Jayate and Insaaf, which still remains one of his career’s highlights.
In 1997, Vinod Khanna joined Bharatiya Janata Party and won the Lok Sabha elections from Gurdaspur and still went on to act in many films. While Dilwale was his last venture as an actor, he will profoundly be remembered for films like Dabangg and Wanted too.
Bollywood is a close-knit industry and when someone like Vinod Khanna, who was less of an actor and more of an idol, passes away, people are bound to be sad and share their grief with the world. Many celebrities and other public figures tweeted about his death and paid their respect.
