Dangal’s new single, “Dhaakad” is here and it has something unique about it. The track is peppy with some seriously powerful lyrics. Finally, we have something in the market that talks about women power, which is refreshing from the same old partying and romantic songs. The kind of confidence that these sisters possess in the movie and this song (and in real life too) is just amazing to watch and would definitely be uplifting for many.
Dhaakad video is full of Geeta and Babita’s fight in their young age, and it can almost be considered the next step after the ‘Haanikaarak Bapu’. While in that video, the sisters seemed to be tortured by their father’s strictness and they almost didn’t want to wrestle, but in Dhaakad video, one can easily see the passion they have towards wrestling. The transitions in the characters are really good, plus the girls seem to be considerate with what they are doing and how they should not be considered just a girl in a match.

The Haryanvi rap in the song is really good and it is definitely a victory song for all the women out there. “Dhaakad” is sung (more like rapped) in the strong voice of Raftaar, who is really impressive in this song. It is a peppy number with strong lyrics, while Pritam gave the music, Amitabh Bhattacharya penned down the lyrics. Both the songs of “Dangal” are fairly different than what we are used to hearing on a usual basis, but they have proved to be a hit among the audience for the same reason only.
“Dangal” is based on the incredible story of Mahavir Singh Phogat and would be releasing on 23rd December 2016.
