As the year is coming to an end we have got a list of hit movies of Bollywood movies for you and if you haven’t seen them already you can make a plan to watch them before 2016 bids goodbye.
Here is the list of hit movies of Bollywood in 2016:
The movie inspired from a real life brave Indian air hostess, Neerja Bhanot is one of the few movies which registered their name in 100 Cr club in 2016. It played the right strings of emotions and audiences loved it. Not only viewers but critics too praised the movie.
Inspired by a real incident, the movie instigated the right emotions in viewers and the convincing acting of Akshay Kumar won the hearts of his fans. Keeping the country love on the loop of the story, the movie earned well at the box office.
3. ‘Nil Battey Sannata’:
Though it was a low budget movie but the emotional quotient where a sensitive mother goes through the pain to give her daughter a good education, was right on point and the creative perspective of director allured the audience to the theaters.
4. Kapoor and Sons:
Rishi Kapoor was the star of the movie, though the movie had big names like Alia Bhatt, Fawad Khan and Sidharth Malhotra too but the fun element by Rishi Kapoor impressed audience the most. The make-up of Rishi Kapoor alone cost Rs 2 Crore but the movie did well at box office as it earned Rs 150 crore in three weeks.
5. Ki and Ka:
Focusing on new age urban-relationships, the movie had an entirely new concept that intrigued the viewers. Showcasing a man doing a woman’s job (as per society’s definition) was the new flavour which made it one of the most intriguing movies of the year.
6. ‘Udta Punjab’:
Possibly the most controversial movie of the year which revolves around the serious issue of Drugs in Punjab was loved by the viewers. The censor board already gave it enough publicity as they tried to weigh it down and as a result it flew high on the Box office.
The movie which was focused on the sexual violence was praised by all. Amitabh Bachchan as a lawyer won the show as he established that society needs to understand that when a woman says ‘no’ it means ‘no’ The audience connected well to the context and the movie crossed 100 Cr mark.
Though the movie was based on a life of wrestler but it was more of a love story than the sport. Salman Khan’s dynamic presence in the movie along with Anushka Sharma did wonders and the movie earned over a whopping 300 Cr at the box office.
9. ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’:
Between all the surgical strikes and attacks between India and Pakistan, the role of Fawad Khan in the movie created a lot of controversies but Karan Johar managed to woo the audience with the unconventional idea of unrequited love and Shahrukh Khan’s special presence. Despite the shamming and critical comments people said about the movie, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ did well on Box Office.
Aditya Chopra directed this movie after Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and tried to make a new image with foreign locations and today’s new age relationship concept. Where many viewers watched it out of curiosity and made it a hit, it was badly thrashed by critics for lacking the development of the concept.
Aamir Khan once again proved that he is actually a perfectionist as he and the entire cast of the movie displayed sheer acting in the movie. The script was inspired by the real-life characters of Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari, and their father and coach, Mahavir Singh Phogat. The movie is doing so well on the box office that it is turning out to be Aamir Khan’s biggest hit till now.
Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rustom’, Sushant Singh Rajput’s ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’ and Ajay Devgan’s ‘Shivaay’ were also in the list of hit movies of 2016.
