Jeep Compass has been the talk of the town since it was unveiled by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) in India, back in April and now the company has started taking pre-booking for what is said to be the next benchmark in D-segment luxury SUVs.
Jeep Compass was globally launched last year but is all set to make a touchdown in a country where SUV is a segment which has seen a huge boom in recent years and with Goods and Service Tax ready to be implemented on 1st July, the same segment could touch new heights in the coming future.
With demand for SUVs on the rise, every player is coming up with new models in order to grab a bite and Jeep Compass is Fiat’s biggest bet in this scenario. Expected to be launched in 17 variants, Jeep Compass might do down as low as Rs 18 lakh with the top end variant being priced close to Rs 25 lakh-mark and this is where the actual action will take place.
With Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner having seen a complete makeover and the lower segment being ruled by the likes of soft off-roaders such as Mahindra XUV500, it will be interesting to see how they approach the challenge that Fiat will pose with the Jeep Compass.
As for the pre-bookings, customers can either head to a Fiat Chrysler Automobiles showroom or a Jeep-exclusive showroom (find the closest dealer here) or they can visit the website and pre-booking the Jeep Compass with just Rs 50,000. Click here to visit the website.

During the launch of bookings, Kevin Flynn, President and Managing Director of FCA India said, “We are already receiving an overwhelming response to our new SUV. We have pulled out all stops to deliver the highest quality standard on the Jeep Compass and we are here to set a benchmark in the Indian SUV space. Customers will experience first-hand, the level of sophistication in the vehicle”.
If you’ve lusted after Jeeps for years but have found your pocket being shy of Wrangler and Grand Cherokee, Jeep Compass could be your best chance of living the dream. As for the company itself, a lot is riding on the success of Jeep Compass and since it has been the bread and butter for manufacturer all over the world, we expect to see this vehicle very soon, and in big numbers, on Indian roads.
