No matter how much we talk about every colour being the colour of the year, there are some people who have been hired for actually deciding the colours for specific seasons and that too for a specific year. These colour majorly come into the spotlight due to all the fashion weeks that take place and decide the future of what to wear and what not to wear. So ya, all those New York Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week and London Fashion Week give you an insight to what the “it” colours of the season are.
For Autumn 2016 too, there is a list of colours that you could invest in your money and wardrobe. They are somewhere far from all the warm shades of grey and maroons, they are fresh and bring something new to the table this year. This list of colours is selected by Pantone Color Institute.
1. Riverside
This colour is said to be calming, cool, vibrant and sophisticated. There were many international designers who incorporated Riverside in their collection like – Michael Kors, Zac Posen and Trussardi.
2. Airy Blue
Airy Blue is true to its name as it somehow gives a feel of weightlessness, which is highly appreciated, this fall season. There were many designers who went with this colour as they felt, that the colour had a certain everlastingness to it. Designers like Yoana Baraschi and Nicole Miller used Airy Blue in their collection.
3. Sharkskin
Sharkskin is the closest alternative to the same old boring grey for this season. The best thing about Sharkskin as a colour is that it can be paired with almost any colour, be it muted or bright. Designer brands like Michael Kors and Zac Posen were seen being well versed with this shade.
4. Aurora Red
Aurora Red belongs to the family of Reds and considered to be pleasing to the eye as well as sensual too. This colour can be spotted anywhere, from Deadpool’s costume to Lady Gaga’s pantsuit for Super Bowl performance. Gucci and Blumarine were seen experimenting with this colour.
5. Warm Taupe
Warm Taupe is one of the neutral colour for this Autumn, it is timeless and suggests stability as well as seems to be grounded. Ralph Laurena and Valenino went ahead with this colour for the fashion week.
6. Dusty Cedar
It is somewhere around the pink shade and definitely something that people are used to seeing in Spring time. However, the shade is sure shot amazing and welcoming at the same time. Paul Smith was seen incorporating it in his collection.
7. Lush Meadow
Lush Meadow is vibrant, rich and at the same time sophisticated. It seems to bring liveliness on the fashion front in Autumn and Gucci incorporated the colour in their collection.
8. Spicy Mustard
The colour Spicy Mustard is very true to its name and is vibrant as well as a spicier twist to plain old Yellow. Valentino and Chloe had beautifully played with the colour in their collection.
9. Potter’s Clay
Potter’s Clay is somehow closer to being rusty orange and is a neutral orange, which is perfect for the autumn season. Trussardi and Tibi went ahead with this shade in her designs.
10. Bodacious
Bodacious would be the least expected colour in Autumn season due to its vibrancy, which is the reason why the colour was a definite choice of many who don’t play by the rules. Oscar de la Renta and Zang Toi went ahead with this vibrant colour in his collection.
