Vicks India came out with an amazing advertisement that deals with some of the most hushed issues in our society. It has already been going viral on various different social media accounts and is actually based on a true story.
One has to see it, in order to get the real feel of the advertisement.
While the brand, Vicks India, has not much to do with the actual advertisement, they were able to combine the real idea behind both, the story as well as their product, and compiled them together in the most emotional and real way possible.
This true story is based on the lives of Gauri Sawant and her daughter Gayatri. It is about a girl who is being raised by a transgender woman or more as we call it in India, the 3rd gender. The entire advertisement is as beautiful as it can get with the kid telling her story of how she was adopted by a new mom after the demise of her real mother. The girl also talks about how keenly her mother wants her to become a doctor and has been doing whatever she could, in order to make it happen.

Once you have completed seeing the advertisement, you’ll immediate realise the struggles that transgenders in our country have to face. How basic human rights are also not applicable for them. All of this is somehow bizarre, as being a transgender is nothing new in our country, however, it’s still a taboo that people don’t even want to acknowledge.
As for Vicks India, with this advertisement they decided to bring out the message in which they strongly believe that is, everyone deserves to feel what it means to be cared for and to care for someone. According to Vicks, everyone deserves a touch of care.
