Brendon McCullum played his last one-day international as a true cricket star. With his 260th and final ODI in Seddon Park in Hamilton against Australia, he winded down his career. The Australian team performed a guard of honour for Brendon McCullum as he walked on, to the field, as a mark of respect. It’s ironic that his debut was also against Australia at the Sydney cricket ground in 2002 and he retired playing against Australia.
McCullum performed a smashing innings of 47 runs off 27 balls. The 34 years old cricketer received a standing ovation as he walked off the ground. The former captain of New Zealand will retire from all internationals after the second test match against Australia in Christchurch.In his last ODI innings, his first smashing shots were boundaries. McCullum had hit six boundaries and four sixes in his 27 ball innings and his charged up performance electrified the crowd. His attacking style has always enticed the crowd and Brendon McCullum ended his career in ODI with respect after 260 matches with a strike rate of 96.37.
