If there can be positive news to uplift our morale and encourage us all the way, then why not also spare time to read something weird and indescribably funny, rather hilarious. After all, when the world is full of all sorts of ocurrences and happenings, absurdities being among them, then how can one simply turn a blind eye on them. More so, when something rather absurd comes knocking our way from a country that’s about as colourful as it is charismatic and about as inspiring as it is decked with insipid occurrences. That being told, something that one can only call rather ludicrous happened in Kerala, often fondly identified as ‘God’s own country!’
At a time where the country is dealing with several issues of its own, none being as troublesome and worrisome as the COVID 19 mess, it actually turns out that a woman in the region of Malappuram tested COVID positive, having been given a report. But the only issue was, she never got herself tested.
So this leaves us wondering whether India is determined to make headlines, whichever or however way they come.
That being said, what are the intricacies of this forlorn experience. Truth be told, if in today’s day and age, you receive a health update that clearly mentions you being COVID positive when the third wave is about to hit- as being stated by some- you can be shocked. Rather, you can be moved to tears and be mentally wrecked.
So how come this lady found to her utter surprise that she had tested positive, when on the contrary- funny as it may sound- she never tested for COVID 19?
A woman in Chelembra panchayat in Malappuram, who hadn’t undergone a COVID 19 test, was surprised after she received a positive RTPCR test report. Eventually, of course, it turned out that there was some bungling up being done by the health body behind the needless furore.
Surprisingly though, when the woman approached the authorities citing her issue (that she had tested positive even without having ever tested so), she was told to undergo an antigen test, in which she happened to test negative.
An episode which turned out to be a mix up, and a needless one at that obviously, took place at a mass COVID testing camp at the Malaparamba SC colony at Chelembra on the 25th of July this month. Though, the incident took place when no fewer than 18 cases were reported from the same colony.
Moreover, the following information came to light basis a news report published on the revered Times Of India:
Her husband and two other relatives had undergone Covid testing at the camp, held in the locality. And according to the health authorities, the mix up happened when there was a mix up related to the confusion basis the token issued to the family members of the woman but prior to testing.
But that being said, if such a weird thing would have happened to anyone else, even the most mentally strong individual, things would only have yielded a state of panic. And none of us need something like that, especially in these COVID-riddled times. Isn’t it?
