Gautam Gambhir has been the talk of the town due to his exemplary captaincy and consistent performance in the recently concluded Duleep Trophy 2016, which led his team ‘India Blue’ to the title victory.
On Wednesday Gautam Gambhir got picked in the Indian Test Team Squad for the 2nd and 3rd test match against New Zealand. All Gambhir fans were delighted at the thought of finally seeing him play for the Indian team and were anxious about how he will perform in his comeback match at the same time. But this was not the scenario as Gambhir was not picked in the playing XI.
There were rumors that Gambhir could be ignored when the initial test squad was revealed, due to the violent on-field spat that stunned cricket fans in IPL 2013 and this is what happened. But Gauti’s mouthwatering performances at Domestic level cricket and dedication could not be ignored which has made his comeback possible in the test squad. The ‘Bring Back Gambhir’ movement started by his fans had finally showed its results but they were expecting more.
Since the notorious spat between the Test captain Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir in IPL 2013, things have been pretty odd between them as they have not gelled well in their previous encounters after the IPL fight. The fans were also anxious to see how these two cricketers will forget about their differences and play together for the Indian team. Now the anxiousness continues because Shikhar Dhawan was picked instead of Gautam Gambhir in the playing eleven.
Fans thought that there was no need to worry, as in a recent video shared by BCCI, both Gambhir and Kohli were seen laughing and enjoying the practice session at Eden Gardens stadium ahead of the 2nd Test between India and New Zealand.

It seemed like both the cricketers had forgotten the on-field cold war and were looking forward to build good relations for the betterment of the team. Now, this is what we call professionalism.
After Dhawan’s performance in the first innings, now the selectors have to answer the Indian Cricket fans for not selecting Gautam Gambhir as the opener in the ongoing Match against New Zealand.
