IPL 2017 Match 21 SRH vs DD: Hyderabad registered a classic win over Daredevils by 15 runs.
Sunrisers Hyderabad entered as the favorites and left as the winners against Delhi Daredevils in the 21st match of IPL 2017 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. It was Kane Williamson’s knock that strengthened the already strong batting lineup of SRH and playing his first game of IPL 2017, Kane-ever-reliable-Williamson added 89 runs to his team’s total in just 51 balls, which included six boundaries and five huge sixes.
T20 cricket has been a format best relished by muscle men and heavy hitters but a technically correct batsman with clean hitting and on-the-spot improvisation can also damage the opposition and that is what Kane Williamson was all about yesterday.

That was not it, even Shikhar Dhawan finally managed to chop the opposition through his blade and added some of the most important runs to the total of 191. He had those runs coming from the start but it was the pace that was holding him back after David Warner went cheap in the second over. But it was Williamson’s aura that had a long lasting effect on Dhawan who then started finding the gaps for clean boundaries and rotating the strike. By the end of SRH’s innings, his score of 70 off 50 and his partner’s 89 off 51 balls were the two knocks that mattered as no other batsman was able to perform.

There was one more performance that we witnessed during the IPL 2017 SRH vs DD match and that was Chris Morris’ exceptional 4-wicket haul that might have overshadowed Williamson’s knock. Sunrisers Hyderabad lost four wickets during their innings and it was Chris Morris who struck every time for Delhi Daredevils. In his four overs, he just conceded 26 runs and this coupled with his 4-wicket haul, is one of the best bowling tallies in Indian Premier League History.

However, despite Chris Morris’ four-wicket haul, Delhi Daredevils couldn’t reach the target as Mohammed Siraj’s 2/39 on his IPL 2017 debut, the wild card played by David Warner through Yuvraj Singh’s solitary and Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s economic bowling in death overs, were enough for Sunrisers Hyderabad to register a 15-runs win over visitors.
Given the cruel restrictions of IPL, which only allows four foreign players, we have seen some of the best talents sitting on the bench and when they are given the opportunity to perform, it turns out to be a thrilling experience for the fans.
