India Vs Pakistan in a Cricket World Cup is considered the “Mother of all Matches”, especially if it is U19 World Cup where we witness the next generation of cricketers shine and compete for the ultimate glory.
However, India Vs Pakistan U19 World Cup semi-final was another disappointment for the neutrals as The Men In Blue rattled the opposition with exceptional performances both with the bat and in the second innings with the ball.
It was Shubman Gill’s ton which is to be blamed for a one-sided match as he snatched the result from Pakistan’s grip in the first innings and ended all the hype that was there before the India Vs Pakistan U19 World Cup semi-final.
Moreover, what followed was a complete bowling attack Prithvi Shaw-led side where Ishan Porel stole all the spotlight with his 4-wicket haul with a tally of 6-17-4. Interestingly, Porel went unsold in IPL 2018 Auction and after the India Vs Pakistan U19 World Cup match, there will definitely be a couple of franchises who would want a time machine to make their decisions right.
That said, the opening partnership of 89 runs between Prithvi Shaw (41) and Manjot Kalra (47) also deserves a credit which gave Shubman Gill a chance to express himself and lead his team to a total of 272 runs.
In response, Pakistan could only manage a reeling 69 runs before getting bowled out in just 29.3 overs. While this was Pakistan’s lowest total in the tournament’s history, Twitterati had a gala time, especially Indian fans, as they congratulated team India for their resounding victory in the U19 World Cup semi-final.
Here are some of the Twitter reactions including those from the sport’s greatest.
