Last Night, Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa died at the age of 68. The six-time Tamil Nadu Chief Minister was more than just a politician or a leader for the people in Tamil Nadu. It won’t be wrong to say that she was one of the most powerful politicians in the country. She was admired and popularised among the people just like her successor MG Ramachandran, the man who started All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) .
‘Amma’ wasn’t well from a long time and was on constant life support after her cardiac arrest on Sunday evening.
J Jayalalithaa was a people’s leader with grit and integrity. Even though she had corruption charges against her for which she was jailed twice, her glorious comebacks were a sheer example that ‘The Iron Lady of Tamil Nadu’ could not be written off.
Newspapers around the world marked her death with some of the most influential headlines ever.
