May is officially here and you know what that means, a whole new month for new and exciting releases. Each month brings in new projects for the audience, there are some releases that the audience has been waiting for months and all in all, it’s the excitement that grasps every cinephile’s dreams to be ahead in the race.
If you’re someone like that then May 2018 can prove to be an exciting month for you. There are some really good movies with actors and directors on board, and one can only expect the best from them. There are a variety of genres too that the directors and makers are playing on, this month. From comedy to thriller, there’s a lot to look forward to, and we’ve accumulated a list of these exciting upcoming Bollywood movies in May 2018. Check them out here:
1. 102 Not Out
Release Date: May 4
This is an exciting release and definitely will be a big hit among the family crowd of the country that comprises of middle-aged or older people who have grown up and transitioned into their adulthood with Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor movies. The concept of the movie is good and so is the Bachchan Kapoor Jodi which will come together more than 22 years after their last movie.
102 Not Out is a movie about an interesting father-son relationship in which the father wants to send his son to old age home. Based on a Gujarati play, there’s so much to look forward to, in here.
2. Omerta
Release Date: May 4
The first week of May brings in another interesting movie for the audience. Omerta is a serious movie, by a serious director with a serious actor and for the serious audience. After shining bright at the film festivals, the movie will now release in theatres for all die-hard Rajkummar Rao fans. Omerta is directed by Hansal Mehta and is based on the life of terrorist Omar Saeed Shaikh. Shaikh was involved in the 2002 kidnapping and murder of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, 9/11 World Trade Centre attacks, and the Mumbai terror strike. Earlier, Omerta was supposed to be released on April 20, but then the makers decided to bring in some change.
3. Raazi
Release Date: May 11
Ever since Alia Bhatt did Highway and Udta Punjab, her stature in the movie industry has grown massively, she is now noted as an extremely talented actress who’s not afraid to take risks with her movie choices. As for Raazi, the movie is based on the real-life story of a girl from Kashmir who is trained as a spy and is sent to Pakistan after her marriage to a Pakistani army officer (Vicky Kaushal) to collect classified information ahead of the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Apart from Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal’s acting, Raazi is also a fest for serious cinephiles as it’s directed by Meghna Gulzar who’s earlier directed Talvar. Plus, noted poet and lyricist Gulzar has penned the lyrics of Raazi songs and they’re turning out to be marvelous, one after another.
4. Bhavesh Joshi Superhero
Release Date: May 25
Bhavesh Joshi superhero is the next and second release of Harshvardhan Kapoor and one can only wish it to be amazing for him to successfully sustain in the industry. The teaser of the film was released quite some time back and the movie seems to be amazing and eventful for the viewers. Plus, Vikramaditya Motwane is behind the movie and we know how great of a filmmaker he is in reality.
5. Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran

Release Date: May 25
Consider this movie to be a comeback for John Abraham who has been in an on again and off again relationship with Bollywood. The film has already gone under a lot of ruckuses in terms of the producer relationships which has led the movie to postpone from one date to another. The movie is based on the 1998 nuclear tests in the city of Pokhran after which India became a nuclear power. In the movie, John will be seen essaying the role of an army officer.
The movies are great, dates are amazing, which is why it will be too hard for cinephiles to leave any reasonable reasons for not coming to the show. Are you excited about these upcoming Bollywood movies?
