Two great actors who share the same profession besides the same surname. Two actors who are both versatile and have, over the course of the past so many years, given us several hits to remember. Yet, two stars and icons who haven’t yet shared the same stage or project even as they both live in the same city, work in the same profession, and happen to be closely located to one another in the city of dreams: Bollywood, Mumbai.
While it’s a completely different topic and a subject of discussion that should feature some other day as to what can be that interesting project that could possibly bring the two together under a common film’s umbrella, what must be shared is that both Aamir Khan and SRK happen to have a respectable relationship with one another.
They aren’t the best of friends for sure and certainly don’t play a huge role in one other’s life but their actual relationship is anything but sour as often falsely proclaimed by tabloid media.
And the above isn’t some breaking news development but a fact of life that none other than Aamir Khan- a screen legend and a great movie star- himself accepted.
What may sound a tad bit uncanny regarding both actors is that while both Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan aka SRK have close ties with Salman Khan, their common friend, the Dhoom 3 and Chak De India stars, respectively do not quite connect very intimately.
And it’s not that there has been some bad blood or a recent controversial entanglement between the two; it’s just how things are between the two far ends of Bollywood; names without whom the conception of the Indian Film Industry can hardly be imagined.
Recently, Aamir Khan, in an interview to a film journal offered some insights on the subject of strain in the relationship between the two. He was bold and open and very admitting of a few things.
If you wish to know some key excerpts from that story then kindly make time for the following bits of information brought to life by the Indian Express:
In 2014, when Aamir appeared on Koffee with Karan with then-wife Kiran Rao, Karan asked him about his “genuine vibe” with SRK. Aamir spoke candidly about their relationship, revealing that there had been “stress” between the two.
“There’s a genuine regard and respect for each other’s work and space. if I have to be honest, there’s a certain amount of guardedness. There’s certainly warmth, but there have been moments when there has been fair bit of stress in the relationship,” Aamir said, to which Karan asked if they had tried talking about it.
“Our lives don’t converge. We don’t meet that much,” the superstar said, adding, “I think he is doing really good for himself. He has got a great family and a great bunch of people around him. I don’t think he really needs me or has space in his life for me. I wish him well. I like to see his work. As an audience, I enjoy his work as well.”
Now, the above told, what would be really exciting would be to actually see the two divergent actors responsible for movies like Pardes, Hum Hain Raahi Pyaar Ke, Dil Hai Ke Maanta Nahin, Gajni, When Harry Met Sejal, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Chahta Hai, among many to share the same screen space. And if Salman Khan can be part of that project too, it would be simply fantastic.
What do you reckon?
