The fourth major update in the iOS 15 generation was recently released and has brought some new and quite useful features to its compatible devices. With the initial release on 14th March, the new set of additions that come with the software is unique and exciting for a variety of users. Let us have a look at the major updates-
Top iOS 15.4 features
1. Use of Face ID with a mask
The Face ID unlocks with a mask is a big feature and was first introduced in the developer beta version of the latest version. With iOS 15.4, users can now unlock their devices using the Face ID while having their face masks on. This new feature eliminates the hassle of putting the password every time the user wears a mask. However, there might be a certain level of security compromise with this feature.
How to use Face ID with a mask
To get this feature running, the user will have to open the Face ID & Passcode section in the settings and find the toggle for this new feature. Turning on the Face ID with a mask on’ toggle will prompt the user to scan their face again. Once this step is done, the new feature will be set to function. The feature is limited to iPhones 12 and 13 only.
2. A ton of new emojis
iOS 15.4 cannot be a major update without new emojis. This time, it has a slew of them to jazz up your communication across tweets, texts, and mail. With 37 emojis and 75 additions to skin tone, there are 112 new emoji units. With the new addition to faces, hands, and several objects, the emoji bank has become more exciting.
3. Anti Stalking Improvements on AirTag
This is the first line of updates on AirTag and Find My App. The new feature gives a pop-up whenever a user sets up an AirTag. The pop-up is a warning about how tracking someone else without their consent is a criminal activity. The warning also notifies how the victim and law enforcement authorities can find the details once the tag is discovered.
Users can no longer disable all warnings related to unexpected AirTags in nearby areas, and Find my items will be thoroughly identified. This set of features comes as the first of many pledged updates by Apple in 2022.
4. Notes for Keychain Passwords
The notes section is a new addition to the Keychain feature on iOS 15.4; this field can be used to write notes about your important passwords. These notes are also searchable and will provide better discoverability of information when looking for password-related stuff.
5. New SOS settings
The default setting for emergency SOS is pressing the side and either of the volume buttons and holding it. The previous option before the update can also be toggled back. The process to start an emergency call is to hold these buttons down until the countdown runs out or drag the top slider.

There is also an option for the users in the US to add an Apple Card widget to the screen if the user owns an Apple credit card. The widget will provide the benefits of a financial planner. Siri also gets a new voice in the long list of additions.
The update will be compatible with 6S to the newest models and SE 1st and 2nd generation devices.
