Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S Might Come With In-Display Fingerprint Scanner

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S has been in the news for quite some time now. Since we heard that the Chinese smartphone maker is going to launch either the Mi Mix 2S or Mi 7 at MWC 2018, rumors about the former have picked up pace because of this is the smartphone Xiaomi is going to launch against the Samsung Galaxy S9-Duo, then it has to have a couple of stand out features.

For the unknown, the report which suggested that the company will either launch the Mi Mix 2S or Mi 7 at MWC 2018 also added that Xiaomi wants to postpone the latter’s launch as it wants to see what the Samsung Galaxy S9-Duo will be capable of. By doing so, the Chinese maker will have an opportunity to tweak Mi 7’s package and compete with other flagships, throughout the year.

Coming back to the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, this particular smartphone has gained a lot of attention since making an appearance on benchmark site AnTuTu with the name ‘Polaris’. The reason? Well, the listing suggests that the device will be powered by the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, which earlier was a rumor we were hearing for quite some time.

But that’s not all. As far as the specifications are concerned, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S is going to be backed by 8GB of RAM, 256GB of internal memory and a dual rear camera setup at the rear. Yes, the Mi Mix 2 will reportedly have 12MP dual sensors at the back where one will be a standard sensor and the second one will be a 12MP telephoto lens like other Xiaomi-made smartphones such as the Mi 6 and Mi A1.

If you thought that this was about it, we have another good news for Xiaomi’s fanbase. While we already know that Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, if launched with SD 845 chipset, will be the first smartphone of the year with Qualcomm’s flagship processor, a new image has been leaked which suggests that the handset will also come with an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Let it be known that Vivo will be launching the first ever smartphone with an in-display fingerprint scanner and the device, dubbed as Vivo X20 Plus UD will soon be made available worldwide, soon enough.

But Xiaomi is not backing down from entering the game with everything it has got. According to a new leak that has been doing the rounds of Chinese media, a whole lot of specification of Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S has been leaked and now we have a great insight into what the maker is planning to launch in the next couple of weeks.

The image shows a box-shaped design, similar to its predecessor but there’s no fingerprint scanner at the rear and the leak says that the smartphone will have an in-display fingerprint scanner, just like the recently unveiled Vivo X20 Plus UD.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will still have a four-sided Ceramic unibody and a bezel-less, continuing the trademark design of Mix series. As per the report, however, the display will be called Full Screen Display 3.0.

Everything said and done, there has been no official announcement from the company itself and all these rumors should be taken with a pic h of salt. However, if Xiaomi somehow manages to offer all the above-mentioned features/specs with Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and still launches it with a price tag below the Rs 40,000-mark, the handset is surely going to be one of the best launches of 2018.
