InFocus Vision 3 Review: It Offers A Lot Other Than Being The Cheapest Bezel-Less Smartphone

When it comes to major trends of the year, bezel-less displays and dual-cameras are the two areas where every smartphone maker have placed its bets and if you thought the party is over, InFocus has another formidable package for you, dubbed as the InFocus Vision 3.

The thing that makes InFocus Vision 3 so special is the fact that it comes with a bezel-less display while also being the most affordable smartphone to offer the feature. InFocus has been aggressively launching its new handsets since the last six months or so and after the likes of Snap 4, Turbo 5, and Turbo 5 Plus, here comes InFocus Vision 3 to set a new benchmark in the entry-level segment.

Launched in direct competition with Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Moto G6 Play, Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and even the Micromax Canvas Infinity, the InFocus Vision 3 seems to offer a lot at this price as it also comes with a dual-rear camera setup.

But there is just one major letdown with the Vision 3 which can probably hamper its expected success. On that note, here is our InFocus Vision 3 review where we have taken a look at what exactly the smartphone has to offer and can it successfully set a new benchmark in the segment.

• 64-bit Quad-Core MediaTek MT6735H processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with Mali-T720 GPU

• 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory, expandable up to 64GB via microSD

• Android 7.0 (Nougat) out of the box

• Fingerprint sensor at the rear panel and Hybrid Dual SIM (nano+nano/microSD)

• 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED Flash and a secondary 5MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 120-degree wide-angle lens.

• 8MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture and A.I face recognition feature which will be updated via an update soon.

• 4000mAh battery with no support for fast charging

• 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio

• 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB OTG support for charging and data transfer.

InFocus Vision 3 Price And Availability

Priced at Rs. 6999, the InFocus Vision 3 will be available a single Black color option via Amazon starting from December 20th.

While there has been no word about any introductory offers with the smartphone we expect InFocus to market Vision 3 rather aggressively in India due to the seemingly great package.

InFocus Vision 3 Review

• In this segment, whenever a smartphone maker launches a handset in this segment with Stick Android, it easily gets a bonus point from our end due to the fact that an entry-level smartphone user always looks for a pure Android experience.

• Coming to the 5.7-inch bezel-less display, it is vibrant under direct sunlight for media consumption and offers great viewing angles, however, those black bars can get annoying while watching YouTube videos.

• The dual-camera setup at the rear is ‘The’ best unit as fast as the competition is concerned. However, we do miss Optical Image Stabilization, which to be true, neither of the competitor’s offers.

• InFocus Vision 3 is the first smartphone to come up with its own answer to Nokia’s Bothie feature in form of the Dualfie capabilities which can click pictures as well as record videos from both sides of the cameras, simultaneously.

• On the other hand, both the front and rear units offer great results when used in exposure and even under low lighting condition.

• The 4000mAh battery, although doesn’t come with fast charging, can offer enough juice for a full day of mixed usage.

• The biggest letdown of InFocus Vision 3 is the MediaTek MT6735H processor which should have been replaced with the SD 430 SoC. While the Snapdragon powered-chipset is almost two years old, it is still the best processor for entry-level smartphones.

Conclusion

InFocus Vision 3 indeed offers way more than its competitors and while there is nothing like a perfect smartphone, it’s the vision of InFocus that has left us impressed.

In fact, as far as the performance credentials are concerned, InFocus Vision 3 is a good option, if not the best but it perfectly covers up its drawbacks by being the best package for multimedia consumption.

It is a winner in all senses!!
