Not everybody may feel the angst and struggle of the wildlife in these harsh days of the COVID 19 pandemic. The second wave has proven itself to be deadlier than the first. Now the point is- what exactly happened to that elephant calf and how did it get stuck in the mud for a rescue operation to be conducted? If you may have happen to see a video that’s doing rounds of the Internet at this point, then you’d find that an elephant calf was stuck in a pud of muddle in the forest area of the Bandipur Tiger Reserve. And had it not been for the timely effort by the forest rangers of the Moleyur Range, at the Bandipur Tiger Reserve in Karnataka, a young life might have been found stifled and absolutely struggling.

A report published on the incident on the Indian Express happened to highlight more lucid details of the story and shared:

In the video, the female elephant calf can be seen rolling from side to side, in an attempt to heave itself up. As the calf soon exhausts itself, trying to get out of the slush, the forest officials intervene and bring in an excavator to help the calf.

“One female elephant, stuck in the fresh mud puddle in Moleyur range of Bandipur Tiger Reserve, rescued successfully,” the national park wrote, sharing the rescue video on Twitter.

While it’s one thing to initiate timely action, as seen in this case involving the elephant calf, it’s something quite other to appreciate the honest deed as and when possible. The video, quite popular over social media site Twitter has seen tens of hundreds appreciating the brave act of the committed forest officials with many lauding the ‘supreme team effort!’

Recently, in the Indian state of Jharkhand, an elephant had fallen into a 30 feet well but was rescued thanks to timely action of another committed group.
