It can hold upto 80,000 audience members. It is the largest ancient amphitheater ever built and is still the largest amphitheater standing in the world.

They represent the advanced engineering capabilities and astronomical knowledge of the ancient Egyptians.The pyramid of Giza is the largest of the three pyramids and offers a deep insight into Egyptian culture, burial practices, beliefs and customs. These pyramids are a hallmark of extraordinaire and were used as a place of burial for pharaohs. Not only that pyramids are associated with lots of mysteries and theories like how they are built and they are aligned with celestial bodies.

5. Angkor wat

  • Location – Siem Reap, Cambodia

  • Angkor Wat is built in honor of the Hindu God Vishnu and it is one of the largest religious famous monuments in the world. It is a hindu-buddist temple complex which dates back in the 12th century built under the Khmer King Suryavarman II. It is renowned for its breathtaking bas-relief and devatas sculpted on the walls. In 1992 UNESCO World heritage site included this temple complex in its list. Its significance can be measured by the presence of this complex on the national flag of Cambodia.

7. The Taj Mahal

  • Known for its ethereal beauty, this historical monument of India is referred as the “Symbol of love”.  Made with pure ivory white marble with intricate calligraphy and carvings, this mausoleum boasts some of the most unique engineering marvels. Taj Mahal was built by ShahJahan, the Mughal Emperor, in the remembrance of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is a UNESCO World heritage site visited by millions of people across the globe. 8. Stonehenge

  • Location – Wiltshire, England.
  • Best time to visit Stonehenge is from March to May and September to November.
  • It is a prehistoric megalithic structure with arrangement of two rings, outer ring of vertical stones, sarsen standing stones and inner ring of bluestones. This monument was added to UNESCO world heritage site in 1986. It took almost 1500 years to complete the construction of this burial place.

  • Location – Jordan

It is one of the world’s intriguing, thriving and mammoth sized archaeological sites.

10. Alhambra

  • Location – Granada, Spain
  • Best time to visit Alhambra lies in the months of November to February.
  • The Alambhara is a palace and fortress complex from the Nasrid Dynasty which embodies a rich blend of Spanish history and Islamic history.  It is an outstanding example of Moorish architecture featuring intricate designed tilework, stucco walls, and breathtaking crafted wooden ceilings. This palace is located on a hill overlooking Granada, providing stunning views of the city and the Sierra Nevada mountains.
