Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 To Set New Standards Of A Bezel-less Display

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, one of the most talked about smartphones of the year, has been making headlines every day due to various leaks suggesting several segment firsts that the smartphone is expected to come with, and with the latest rumor, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is expected to go beyond what we expected.

Before going further with the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, we thought of telling you what exactly is, its would be predecessor, the Mi Mix. It comes with a 6.4-inch (2040 x 1080) IPS LCD display, a 2.35 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor and a 16MP rear camera and a 5MP front unit, while the whole package was backed by a huge 4400 mAh battery.

Now, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 being expected to take the game to a whole new level, we have been anticipated big fireworks but a French designer named Phillippe Starck just posted a teaser video on his Facebook page, which reveals the supposed design of Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2 and by the looks of it, if this what Xiaomi’s next flagship killer is going to look like, man, it will put even the yet-to-be-launched iPhone 8 to shame.

The alleged Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 seems to have a near edge-to-edge bezel-free display with just a tiny sliver of bezels at the sides and a slim strip below the display that houses the microphone. In what has to be a never seen concept, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 not only houses the microphone at the bottom strip but also comes with a selfie-camera. Normally, or we can say in all other non-Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 smartphones the selfie camera sits at the top of the device.

This bizarre placement of the front camera might be justified given that the smartphone comes with almost absent bezel design at the top.

It’s a truly gorgeous device, if it really is the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, and even noted leaker Benjamin Geskin also dropped what he claims to be the product render for the Mi MIX 2, as well. The images perfectly match up with the video, and it is safe to assume that, this is indeed the design of the Chinese manufacturer’s next ultra-flagship, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.

Moreover, apart from a near edge-to-edge display, Mi Mix 2 may also come with 3D facial recognition technology, something which we have already seen in the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6. however, while the Samsung Galaxy S8 comes with this feature out-of-the-box, the LG G6 only recently got the feature via a software update, but Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, like Samsung’s flagship, may come with 3D facial recognition technology out-of-the-box.

As for other specifications, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has so far been rumored to feature a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 6GB RAM, an AMOLED display and a 19 MP main camera. It is expected to come with the same battery capacity as that of its predecessor and will be launched in mid-September with an expected price of CNY 4,999 (Rs 48000 approx).
