Consuming Ghee For Weight loss: World Finally Acknowledges The Benefits of Ghee

Desi Ghee has been an integral part of Indian households and cooking since almost the beginning of time. Ghee is now slowly luring the audience from all over the world ever since people have got to know about consuming ghee for weight loss and a bunch of other benefits of ghee.

Before we go through these amazing benefits of ghee, let’s know more about this magical substance and all the places it is popular in. 

Ghee is a type of clarified butter and it is popular in Indian and Middle East where it is used in a bunch of different cuisines and even eaten by itself. It’s retracted by heating milk until the water content from it evaporates and the only thing left behind are milk solids and liquid fat. The solids are then separated from the liquid fats which came to know as ghee. 

Note, not every clarified butter is ghee, the difference between ghee and other types of clarified butter is that it is made on high heat which, if not done properly can burn milk or butter. Also, it carries a lot of vitamins and nutrients in comparison to other types of clarified butter. It is a great source of Vitamin A, E, various organic compounds and antioxidants

It also has a special place in Ayurveda which considers it to be a magical substance with both medicinal and nutritional properties, along with being sacred for various ceremonies in the Hindu religion.

Various studies show that Ghee is super rich in Omega 3 fats (DHA) and Omega 6 (CLA) which is considered to be great for weight loss. Omega 6 has shown to increase the lean body mass while directly targeting the fat mass in one’s body.

Few experts have found out that consuming ghee for weight loss is a reality since it helps in mobilizing fat cells to be burnt for energy, which is the same mechanism on which the entire keto diet works.

Many experts have claimed that ghee is one of the best quality sources of butyric acid which is considered ideal to support the health and wellness of intestinal walls. The cells of the colon use this acid as a preferred source of energy and make it healthy. 

4. Good For Heart

Ghee also has saturated fats which are considered a prime suspect in raising cholesterol levels which directly affects the health of one’s heart. However, post various researches and studies on the benefits of ghee it is has been claimed that the fats present in ghee are not associated with heart diseases, like other fatty acids. Nutritionists have even advised that daily consumption of ghee in small quantities is good for one’s health. 

5. Great For Skin

Apart from various benefits of ghee in terms of health and consuming ghee for weightloss, ghee is also great for our skin, if used wisely. The fatty acids in ghee act as a great nourishing agent and can do some wonders to one’s skin and give them a soft and supple skin within minutes. Also, it is suitable for all skin types and also hydrates one’s skin in the best way possible.
