There’s never really any positivity whatsoever to note a business shutting down or someone losing out on a big financial sum. The same way the news that one has to scale down one’s operations or ask a group of personnel to abstain from work and back off! But this is the dominant truth of our times. Isn’t it? But it leads to a question.
In an era of feel-good quotes where the emotional stakes are always high and where one often only desires material gains, the common lingo being ‘profit,’ can lockdown bring any good to anyone? The only thing that remains is to see when might normalcy return; when might things get back on track.
If you ever wished to see how the lockdown might have affected the automobile sector then just point to the empty roads, shut shops, and the dealerships with the ‘shutters-down!’ But things are cyclical in nature; after the bad times, there are the good times as well. And reading some breaking news about a carmaker as prestigious and revered as Honda Cars perhaps serves an ideal example. So how is that?
Well, it appears that, slowly but steadily one of the most renowned carmakers in the country has returned to a state of normalcy. And this is sufficiently described in the way Honda Cars have approached the idea of starting work.
You’d be mistaken to think that it’s steady rush back again at Honda cars, that are in no hurry to break the glass-ceiling again.

But still, what’s making news about the widely respected Japanese carmaker?
In a recent media interaction, the Japanese brand shared what’s making news in its domain?
“We have been progressively resuming manufacturing operations with utmost caution in our plants in Tapukara and Greater Noida. The approach has been to target and achieve safe, stable and efficient operations,” Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) Senior Vice President and Director (Marketing and Sales) Rajesh Goel told PTI.
The plants have started with limited capacity and lesser manpower to ensure strict adherence to the safety and distancing norms, which are must in current prevailing scenario, he added.
“Resuming operations with highest safety protocols amidst COVID-19 further strengthens our belief and responsibility to support country’s economic sustainability while reinforcing our commitment to protect community well-being through responsible operations,” Goel said.
That being said, the lockdown has been a phase that brought forth challenges for all automakers, though not everyone has even managed to move a tiny inch from the space of inactivity.
Having said that, of course, Honda cars are but an exception. And no matter what, a slow but steady resumption toward the normal can be seen.

It was not too long ago in the past where the famous offerings such as the Creta were touted to once again, generate big business. It is after all, a good combination of car performance and pleasant design.
Well, looks like there’s much excitement on the part of Honda cars. Can others too, get back into restoring some business and manufacturing operations in India? We’ll have to wait and watch on that front.
