“The homeland of the Jews with a problem anew; what’s hurting Israel at present!?”
The latest cause of concern in the Jewish state of Israel is the Delta variant and its growing cases. Here’s what one needs to know. For a little over three months, almost a quarter of a year, there was peace as far as the Coronavirus situation was concerned in Israel. And now, suddenly with the world grappling with the Coronavirus situation, it appears that the old troubles are back, albeit with the virus beginning to hurt the population in a new avatar or face.
The three-month record considering the COVID-19 cases in Israel has recently been broken and all thanks to the Delta variant. A burgeoning concern for different parts of the world, with many experts going as far as suggesting that there’s no doubt about the fact that Europe will take a hit ‘badly,’ from Israel’s point of concern, this happens to be a new concern for which one simply cannot find an immediately available remedy.
This last Sunday, i.e., July 4, 2021- Israel recorded as many as 341 new Covid 19 cases. This was anything but a bright piece of news for a country that had been soldiering on and had seen far better days in the recent past.
Where it stands at the present, then all healthcare administrations in the country are keenly focusing on the major cause of concern and it’s that how to stop the spread of the Delta variant, which continues to touch different parts of Israel.
But then at the same time, the health ministry of the country also submits a piece of news that’s truly positive. It appears that more than half of the new Coronavirus patients have already been vaccinated. This makes it fifty one per cent.
Furthermore, here is what the famous Israeli news daily Haaretz had to report about the spread of the Delta variant in the country and what seems to be the situation on ground zero:
Genome case testing confirmed that the highly contagious delta variant is responsible for 90 percent of Israel’s coronavirus cases; just three weeks ago, the delta variant accounted for 60 percent of cases, clearly outpacing the alpha variant, which was first detected in the United Kingdom.
The number of serious coronavirus cases in Israel has also risen by almost 50 percent since last week, according to Health Ministry data, to 35 as of Monday morning.

Israel’s first seven cases of delta were reported on April 16, when there were 77 cases in Britain, where the health officials upgraded delta’s severity to a “variant of concern” from a “variant under investigation.”
All of that said, what’s important to note is that back in April, around the middle of the month, precisely on the 16th, the country had gotten rid of nearly all cases of the Coronavirus. But what do we have here after a little over two months?
Where Israel stands as does the rest of the world, it remains to be seen how soon can one identify an effective antidote to what is seemingly becoming a newer face of the problem called the COVID epidemic. For what truly appears is that the problem still persists, albeit the only thing that ever changes is the veiled guise of the Coronavirus. Isn’t it?
