Three things, it ought to be said, cannot and must not be taken for granted. First, the love and affection of parents. Next, driving on the road whilst having consumed alcohol. And finally, the fury of the nature. For truth is, one simply does not know which way will the clock of mother nature turn if we end up messing with the climate. And in an age where overburdened factories, overworked manufacturing sites, constantly populating vehicles and, resultantly, an overdrive of pollution has wrecked the environment, contributing considerably to climate change, one simply cannot take things for granted at all- or can we?
In an age where the threat of climate change is ever more real quite like the threat posed by nations possessing nuclear powers, we ought to tread cautiously and cannot afford to be lackadaisical or casual in our conduct. Never before have unforeseen occurrences like earthquakes, landslides and storms been ever more real than they are in this part of the 21st century.
What’s also all too common to note is the constant melting of the glaciers and the shrinking of the mammoth Himalayas. And along with these threats arrive imposing challenges like summer storms that have in them to wreck severe damage. So how is that? And what is the latest reminder of the damage wrecked by summer storms in our world?
Well, why tread elsewhere, take Europe for example. Different parts of countries like Switzerland (Central Europe) and Germany (Western Europe) suffered from the mega hit received all thanks to sudden summer storms. And while it’s absolutely difficult to compare the length of damage suffered by both the European nations, what’s possible, nonetheless, is to gauge the extent of damage suffered by two legendary European nations.
On its part, in Germany, cities like Stuttgart were severely hit. And how’s that? Not only did one see absolute suspension of rail services, such an important medium of urban commute in the everyday lives of the people, one found several tunnels flooded with heaps of water and disruption on other ends.
What the lashing summer storms did bring along with them, were heavy rains, along with unavoidable hailstorms that made life difficult in some parts of Europe. Where one speaks of the damage suffered by the city of Stuttgart, a destination most admired for being the homeland of Porsche, then it must be said that quite a few trees were uprooted at the spot that overlooks the famous Opera House.
That being said, more information on the exhausting damage incurred by both Germany and Switzerland emanating from the summer storms had India’s revered NDTV report the following:
Video footage showed rivers of water gushing down streets and car windscreens shattered by huge hailstones.
