If there was one piece of news that is both tense and sudden in its wake then it is this- the demise of Germany’s ambassador to China! Whether you are hanging out on your favourite search engine, in midst of an interesting geopolitical piece on your favourite newsletter or conducting a student study in any college of the world, the very fact that just weeks after starting out his job in the Oriental land, Germany’s Ambassador to China was found dead has wrecked havoc in the Western European nation besides igniting a sort of suspicion at China, which may or may not entirely be the right thing to do at this point in time.
Why?
It’s no rocket science, really. Since making presumptions and assuming things without there being any kind of clarity never did anyone any good.
Yet, what’s most worrisome regarding the sudden death of Germany’s ambassador to China- Jan Hecker- is the fact that there weren’t any health woes as such and until very recently, the 54 year old had been seen happy and upright, and most importantly- in good health.
So the key question is, what really happened to the 14th Ambassador of Germany to the thriving land in the far-east and if read correctly, all of a sudden? The German Foreign Ministry, as of few hours earlier, announced the sad passing of Mr. Hecker via a media statement that is fully available in the public domain and expressed bitter shock and disappointment about the sudden passing of Germany’s Ambassador to China, a talented and credible diplomat who had also been Angela Merkel’s Foreign Policy Advisor since the year 2017.

The following excerpts, taken from CGTN, highlight the sad bit of news that has left everyone stunned and truth be told, perhaps at a loss of words:
The German Foreign Ministry announced the news of Jan Hecker’s “sudden death” on Monday morning. He was 54-years old at the time and was married with three children.
The details of his death are yet to be confirmed, including when, where and how he died.
“It is with deep sadness and dismay that we learned of the sudden death of the German ambassador to China,” the German Foreign Ministry said on its website.
Hecker, who was a former adviser to Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, arrived in China on August 1. He then spent time in quarantine before showing his credentials on August 24 to China’s Foreign Ministry.
Wang Wenbin, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, spoke about Hecker’s death at a morning briefing on Monday.
“We are shocked to learn about the sudden death of Ambassador Hecker, who had been working actively to promote China-Germany relations since assuming his post,” he said.
Wang added that China was helping the embassy and Hecker’s family.
That being said, even if there are some who would point at a bit of suspicion regarding the sudden passing of Mr. Hecker, then the question that arises is this-Why would China do such a thing? Moreover, if at all, there are some (or few) who may be alluding to the fact that there could be a Chinese hand in doing this. Or if not, then all of this could very well be a bogus theory conceived at the back of imagining the shallow and treacherous, which may not be true in the first place.
