MWC 2017: Samsung, Nokia, LG and Other Companies We Are Most Excited About

MWC 2017 is just around the corner and after seeing some of the most anticipated launches by smartphone companies rather early in 2017, the anticipation has reached new heights for the biggest smartphone launch platform, Mobile World Congress. The event has given us some of the high rated smartphones, smartwatches, tablets and several other connected devices in the past couple of years, making it by far the biggest trade show for smartphone manufacturers.

MWC 2017 is scheduled for a kick off on 27 February and the four day event in Barcelona will see companies like Xiaomi, Lenovo, Moto and even big players like Samsung and LG, launching not just small mirrors but lots and lots of smartphones and tablets.

While Nokia is expected to launch a brand new comeback lineup, there are several other companies who are expected to play big at MWC 2017.

Let us see what the world is expecting from the heavyweights of the industry this year. The statement may sound a bit prediction friendly but Mobile World Congress has never failed to serve some mind boggling launches and get us talking about the fascinating tech.

LG G6

LG G5 was announced at MWC last year while its successor and the most ambitious project for the company G6 is expected to lead LG’s campaign. It is expected to feature a 5.7-inch 2880 x 1440 Quad HD+ LCD display and it will be the first screen to sport an ultra wide 18:9 aspect ratio, capable of delivering a pixel density of 564 ppi for a “sharp immersive viewing experience”. In the camera department LG G6 will feature the same dual shooter unit as was present in G5 and we wouldn’t be surprised if LG G6 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor coupled with 4GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage, expendable via microSD card.

Samsung Galaxy S8

If we go by the rumors, Samsung is all set to launch its first smartphone since Note 7’s exploding incident and it will be none other than the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8. Samsung has been a regular at the MWC event as the Galaxy S6 and S7 smartphones were launched here and by looks of it, the company will not let LG steal the show in the premium flagship segment.

2 Sony Xperia Smartphones

Also being a regular at MWC and not wanting to feel left out, Sony has also sent out invites and will host an event on 27th January in Barcelona. The company is expected to launch a 5 inch smartphone powered by a Snapdragon 650 processor with some serious hardware updation like a 4GB Ram and an even better 23 MP camera.

However, another leak suggests that Sony could launch another smartphone powered by MediaTek Helio P20 MT6757 chipset and Mali-T880 GPU, under the hood.

Xiaomi Mi6

After the launch of Redmi Note 4, Xiaomi is going up the challenge by introducing its much awaited flagship killer Mi6. The smartphone has been in the news for some time now and we have several leaks in the last 6 months. Going by the success of its predecessor, Mi5, the new entrant by the company is definitely going to be a show stopper at MWC 2017.

Nokia

Nokia is eyeing a comeback in the smartphone business and rumors about the recent flash sale of mid-range Nokia 6 in China, getting out of stock within minutes, is definitely going to prove as a confidence booster for the company. At MWC 2017, Nokia is planning to launch a much more premium smartphone Nokia P1 (Nokia 8) and it is expected to flaunt a Snapdragon 835 SoC processor coupled with 6GB of RAM.

There is plenty more to MWC 2017 and the likes of Blackberry with its Android run qwerty smartphone named Mercury, Lenovo owned Motorola with Moto G and Moto G Plus and HTC with its next flagship smartphone HTC Ocean are also expected to make this a blockbuster event.
