If you are one of those who were scratching their heads on the launch day of Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ because the 6GB/128GB variant was missing from the lineup, there is a good and a bad news for you. Starting with the power of positivity, the 6GB/128GB variant of Samsung Galaxy S8+ has been launched in India and now we have the complete lineup available at offline stores as well as on Flipkart. Pre-bookings will start from 2nd of June and the deliveries will start from 9th June.
As for the bad news, well not exactly, Samsung Galaxy S8+ with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage has been launched with a price tag of Rs 74,990. When we take iPhone 7’s 128GB variant into consideration, Samsung Galaxy S8+ seems more on the costlier side as the former is available at Rs 63,000. However, iPhone 7 doesn’t have the option of expanding the storage but that can never be the justification for the price difference.

When we talk about the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S8+, the infinity display, Samsung’s own interface, Exynos 8895 SoC, running over the Android Nougat 7.0 OS, 12MP ‘Dual Pixel’ rear cameras and a design worth dying for, might make the smartphone worth those Rs 74,990.
Moreover, if you pre-book the Samsung Galaxy S8+, you will free wireless charger that alone is worth more than the new pink note.
However, we are still not impressed with the pricetag. The thing is, Samsung Galaxy S8, which is available with all the hardcore specifications present in the Plus version, seems like a better choice anytime. This might be the same reason why the Korean smartphone manufacturer has launched the 6GB/128GB variant of Samsung Galaxy S8+ in India, despite their plans to limit it to Korea.
Meanwhile, 6GB of RAM will definitely make Samsung Galaxy S8+ faster, not that it is anywhere near to sluggishness, but it will still perform better.
Asim Warsi, Senior Vice President of Samsung India said, “The new Galaxy S8+ variant with its best in class 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory is the ultimate device for users who aspire to explore new possibilities, are always on top of their game, and for whom, multi-tasking is a way of life”.
The heart of the matter is, Indian smartphone market have evolved over the years and while manufacturers are bringing in exceptional devices to Indian shores, the unforgiving competition has started a price war and many times, it is the only reason for a smartphone’s, like Samsung Galaxy S8+, downfall. We hope that this is not the case with the subjected handset, as Samsung has already shooed away the idea of launching a Snapdragon 835 SoC-powered flagship.
