Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus are all over the news these days due to their first ever renders being leaked. After launching the Moto G6-series in the budget smartphone segment, Lenovo-owned Motorola is planning to overhaul its G-series lineup with the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus as the new renders have revealed an all new design with some inspiration from the outgoing models.
According to a report by MrGizmo, which spotted these new renders, the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus are going to come with the waterdrop display design which has become a sort of benchmark feature in the segment. Moreover, if this turns out to be true, the Moto Moto G7-series will become the first Motorola lineup to come with a waterdrop display along with a small notch at the top.
On the other hand, the renders hints that the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus will come with almost a similar design theme, however, we do expect some minor differences such as the battery, display size and more. If recent launches from the company are to go by, both these smartphones could also feature a glass back which will also add to the premium factor of the upcoming handsets.
The report further adds that the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus will also feature dual rear camera setups similar to the Moto G6, however, the camera housing seems to be more prominent in the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus. This could mean that Motorola might introduce some hardware changes, probably in the camera lens, for its upcoming smartphones.
Coming to some key specifications of the smartphones, the Moto G7 is expected to sport a 6-inch Full HD+ display while under the hood, it could be powered by the Qualcomm octa core Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with Adreno 512 GPU. The Moto G7 is also expected to offer at least 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage while the whole package could be backed by a 3500mAh battery with fast charging support. Coming to the camera department, there will be a dual-rear camera setup which might include 16MP + 5MP rear camera sensors coupled with an LED flash, while at the front, there might be a 12MP camera with a wide angle lens as well as some AI-backed features.

On the other hand, the Moto G7 PLus is expected to sport a bigger 6.4-inch Full HD+ display while under the hood, it could be powered by the Qualcomm octa core Snapdragon 710 chipset paired with Adreno 616 GPU for graphics. It should be noted that the newly launched Snapdragon 710 SoC has become the hot favourite chipset in the mid-range smartphone segment.
The Moto G7 Plus is also expected to offer up to 6GB of RAM as well as 128GB of internal storage and since it is going to be a bigger version of the two, it might get a substantial battery bump as well. In terms of camera, there will be a dual-rear camera setup which might include 16MP + 5MP rear camera sensors coupled with an LED flash similar to the Moto G7, while at the front, there might be a 12MP camera with a wide angle lens as well as some AI-backed features.
There has been no word on the pricing of these two smartphones but if all these new upgrades make it to the final Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus, we can expect prices to be increased in comparison to the Moto G6-series, however, they will still be priced below the Rs. 20,000-mark in India.
