FC Barcelona took Instagram and Dailymotion to unveil their home jersey for the upcoming 2016 / 2017 season. They have revealed the new home jersey with Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Gerard Pique and Neymar.
There have been a bit of a bubble recently with Qatar Airways as they wanted to pull out their shirt sponsor and Nike was pushing Barcelona to release jersey in time for pre-season and global shipping. Finally, the club decided to release a new kit without a shirt sponsor and here is the first look.
The club unveiled that they’ve based the design on one of their retro designs that won them the European Cup with a small video on Daily Motion.

The Catalans have reverted to stripes in the kit not to forget they experimented with hoops last session. This time, the Barcelona has gone retro as the stripes are thick and only five stripes are enough to cover the front torso. There will be three blue stripes and two red stripes on the jersey.
Nike have kept things simple, they have just signed a 10-year deal with the club paying a staggering €100m-a-year. They have not messed with the sleeves and the collar.
Barcelona have reportedly spoken to the likes of Pepsi and more for the shirt sponsor but they have repeatedly been rebuffed with their demands usually exceeding the offer.
