Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly jealous of Lionel Messi and is angry with Real Madrid Manager Zinedine Zidane for being biased. First of all, Ronaldo isn’t going through his best of seasons as he has just scored 19 La Liga goal this year and Barcelona is continuously challenging the ‘Men In Whites’ to claim the top spot in the league table.
Lionel Messi, on the other hand, has scored 6 more goals than the Portuguese talisman Cristiano Ronaldo and is leading the race for the Pichichi award. While Real Madrid hasn’t been able to register some big-margin wins, the Catalans, despite having a weak defence and Luis Enrique’s retirement announcements have done it on a couple of occasions, their 6-1 win against Paris Saint-Germain being the biggest of them all.
According to a Spanish Daily, Diario Gol, Cristiano Ronaldo blames Karim Benzema of him being behind Lionel Messi as the Frenchman has failed to assist Ronaldo and setting up the other team-mates.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Benzema have been the favorites at Real Madrid since 2009 and during this time, they have struck up numerous stunning partnership, scoring 568 goals between them. However, both are struggling with their respective form this season and Benzema has netted just eight times in the league.
Previously, it was a well-known fact that Ronaldo hugely admired his Madrid team-mate but now he is getting increasingly frustrated with his performance. Moreover, Diario Gol has reported that the whole Real Madrid dressing room is not appreciating the preferential treatment that Karim Benzema is getting from Zinedine Zidane. Most of the Madrid stars are said to be worried about whether the Frenchman has the mentality to still perform at the highest level and why he is being pampered by the boss.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo’s anger at Benzema has reportedly led him to be jealous of Barcelona star Lionel Messi. Ronaldo feels that Messi’s success is down to those around him (Neymar and Luis Suarez) and he thinks that Benzema’s failures are getting in way of his own chances of individual glory.
As for Lionel Messi, Barcelona is confident of him signing a new deal but the forward wants to ensure the club’s future before he does that, reported Diario Gol. The 29-year-old reportedly wants Camp Nou to sign Kylian Mbappe and Bernardo Silva in the upcoming transfer window as well as, would welcome the exits of Andre Gomes, Arda Turan and Paco Alcacer from the club, for the better good.
When it comes down to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the age-old debate about who is the best has no end and we have seen how they compete with each other on the records tally. While Messi is said to have all the backing in Barcelona, Cristiano Ronaldo’s say at Real Madrid can also be not ignored.
But should they focus on the administration rather than doing what they are paid for and compete with each other? Or do you really think that it’s Neymar and Suarez who are behind Messi’s Glory?
