Barcelona vs Real Sociedad: Lionel Messi Scored His 28th Goal Of The Season And Assisted Barcelona To Enter Copa Semis.

On Thursday, Barcelona gained a thumping win to reach the Copa del Rey semifinals for a seventh consecutive season thrashing Real Sociedad with  5-2. Lionel Messi keeping his remarkable form scored one goal and assisted Denis Suarez,  Luis Suarez and Arda Turan in scoring other 4.

Denis Suarez netted 2 goals while Luis Suarez and Arda Turan both scored one goal each. Barcelona won the first leg 1-0 as Denis, with dainty flick, stroked the ball into the net in the 17th minute of the game. Barcelona was looking for a chance to score another in the first half but eventually, it came early in the second half as Lionel Messi dispatched a 55-minute penalty with pinpoint shot and scored his sixth goal in seven games this year.

Messi fired the ball into the bottom right corner of the net which goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli tried to save but was unable to keep it out.

Real Sociedad hit back with one goal as Juanmi flicked the ball but Barca got back in the game within a minute as Luis Suarez struck another one for the team. William Jose then pulled another goal for Real Sociedad as he knocked a bullet header towards the bottom left corner of the net.

Barcelona got back at Sociedad with two more goals, as Arda Turan and Denis Suarez both added two strikes to give Barcelona a thumping win.

It was the fifth win in a row for Barcelona and the team will now face Alaves, Atletico Madrid or Celta Vigo in the final four.

In the last 11 seasons, Barcelona will play the semifinals for the 10th time.
