They are one of the most interesting and widely-followed teams of the famed Indian Premier League. Thy are a side one truly hopes will raise the cup someday, not long from now. They are also a side so bedazzled with worldwide and eminent talents. You think of the English duo of Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler. And then you also think of a man named Steven Smith, one of the most remarkable willowers in the modern age of the game. Think for a second the fact that they are going to be missing out on the injured Jofra Archer this season and then you come to wonder about the sheer power given their talent and heavyweight potential they’d have brought on to the crease.
But even with the current availability of the talents and the sheer joie-de-vivre they carry, Rajasthan Royals are enigmatic and on their day, truly dangerous in the annals of the Indian Premier League.
That being said, what’s making news about Rajasthan Royals is the jersey that they’ll be donning for this edition of the IPL, the fourteenth for the mega franchise-based series.
While a full-fledged physical function did not take place, keeping in mind the COVID scare and the visible threats, what was fascinating was that the Rajasthan Royals jersey made its way to the keen audiences through a 3D function.
You read that right even as to some, it may have appeared a bit uncanny as a happening!

Who would’ve thought that a 3D function would be held to witness a jersey launch. But hey, aren’t surprises quite like final-over thrillers the order of the day or pretty much the IPL norm?
A report on the Indian Express happened to report the following:
Rajasthan Royals (RR) launched their Indian Premier League 2021 season jersey through a 3D projection and light show at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The show was broadcast live from the stadium to fans around the world and to RR players in their bio-bubble in Mumbai.
RR, champions in the inaugural edition in 2008, will miss playing at their home venue in Jaipur once again after the BCCI picked just six host venues for this season and also ensured that no team gets to play at home.
That being said, implicit in the launch of the Rajasthan Royals jersey was the ambient setting that paid full homage to the vibrant and welcoming Rajasthani culture. There was the famous home stadium of the team- the Sawai Man Singh stadium, the city of Jaipur, famously known as the pink city (also hence the jersey colour scheme) along with the enchanting Rajasthani culture and landscape.
The launch of the jersey was held in partnership with Red Bull.
Meanwhile, a statement from the team for the media happened to highlight critical factors associated with the team’s wear and the upcoming season, due to unfold in the next few hours:
“The show began with Sawai Mansingh Stadium being lit up, from the pitch to the stands. The limelight was then placed on a screen set up especially for the live show where a video montage of the stadium, city and Rajasthan landscape were interspersed with high-speed action shots of Red Bull vehicles and events. The Royals players were 3D projected on the screen, wearing the jersey for the new season, giving fans a first-ever look at the pink and blue jersey they will wear in the 2021 season!”
