For all this and more, it becomes necessary to pay adherence to the following tips or points of advice especially since there’s no easy day with the coming up of this deadly medical anomaly:

Watch out for common symptoms

The first and foremost step in the event of a dengue outbreak is to watch out for common symptoms of the disease. These symptoms help one identify and be sure what’s struck the person is indeed dengue or not. Problems or issues such as headache, eye pain, rashes, muscle and joint pain can cause trouble for kids, much like adults.

Dressing for kids

In order to ensure that one fights out the cases of dengue in kids, it’s important to ensure that the children only wear long clothing. This is essential even more when one is outdoors, playing, venturing for outdoor or physical gatherings. If one’s wearing a T-shirt, then wear a full sleeve garment. Similarly, if one is dressed in shorts, then ensure that one is wearing pants.

To keep risks at bay is, in itself, the first essential step at ducking under cover when the risk of dengue runs high.

Pay attention when outdoors in this way

Parents must be mindful of one thing in particular. And it’s to cover articles such as cribs, baby strollers or other baby carriers with mosquito nettings. They come in handy during times like we are in, particularly here in the capital city.

What kind of insect repellents must one use?

Besides clothing and taking other necessary precautions, a thing that counts as a ‘must have’ during times of dengue outbreaks is to carry with oneself mosquito or insect repellent.

One simply shouldn’t move out of the house in the absence of one.

But even then, special care must be given to use only those insect repellents that have been in sufficient market or common usage. Avoid using random or new brands that have little or less efficacy or market record. In India, it’s vital, absolutely vital to ensure that the product ultimately being put into use carries the ISI marking.

With such necessary steps, one can, at least, be sure to give dengue outbreaks a tough fight.
