Fenugreek water is simply water obtained from soaking dry fenugreek seeds overnight. But make sure you do not overdo it as it can lead to side effects like diarrhea, bloating, gas, nausea, yellow urine, and headache.

Steps to make fenugreek water are – 

  1. Take 1 to 2 teaspoons of fenugreek seeds and soak them in a large glass of water overnight (approximately 8 – 12 hours) or for a minimum of 4 hours.
  2. Now, Strain the water and drink it on an empty stomach in the morning.
  3. Sometimes people prefer drinking lukewarm water so they can warm the methi water slightly as per choice or weather conditions.

If you don’t like the bitter taste of fenugreek water and want a milder taste, then try soaking the seeds in warm water for 30 mins at least instead of soaking it overnight or just boil the seeds for 5-7 mins on medium flame. For the majority of people, the preferred time to drink fenugreek water is an empty stomach in the morning. However, there are no hard and fast rules, you can also consume it at any other time of the day as per your schedule of daily activities. People also add ginger or black pepper or fennel seeds for additional various health benefits from such medicinal water.
