Indian Army launched a fire assault at several Pakistani posts along the Line of Control, on Wednesday and the decision was taken after the death of three Indian soldiers, out of which, one was beheaded by the Pakistani Troops.
The open fire has resulted in the death of 12 Pakistani Civilians living in the villages situated close to the Line of Control and according to the reports by Pakistani media, three Pakistani Troops also died in the attack. The report also added that seven Indian soldiers were also killed in Pakistan’s counter attack.

However, Lt Gen Singh expressed his grief on civilian casualties and said that the Indian Troops only targeted the Pakistani posts, from where the ceasefire violations were initiated and he also denied the news of seven Indian soldiers dying during the operation. He also added that only three Indian soldiers have endured injuries.
The aftermath of Indian Army’s ‘heavy retribution’ led to a conversation between the DGMOs of both the neighboring nations after Pakistani counterpart requested for an ‘unscheduled hotline conversation’.
During the conversation Pakistani Director General of Military Operations was warned that if any ceasefire violations are initiated by Pakistani troops or any infiltration attempt is made by terrorists from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK), it would definitely lead to consequences and appropriate response by the Indian army, Indian DGMO said.
Lt Gen Ranbir Singh also raised the topic of mutilation of an Indian soldier’s body to which the Pakistani counterpart ensured strict control over the troops to prevent any such activity in the future.
